Scope Of Work

The Emerson High School project, built for the Frisco Independent School District, included the new construction of a two-story, 380,000-square-foot high school building which accommodates 2,100 students in McKinney, Texas. The facility houses academics, fine arts, an auditorium, food services, dining, music, a library, athletics, and administration. The project also includes a football field, baseball and softball fields with artificial turf, practice fields, an eight lane track, eight tennis courts, an athletic field house, a concession building, and a ticket booth. The Emerson High school project was the first Frisco Independent School District facility to include a storm shelter. The 13,787-square-foot ICC 500 certified storm shelter serves a dual role as the gymnasium, has the ability to house 2,335 people, and is equipped with a central battery system. The building was constructed on a slab-on-grade foundation with an insulated concrete form structure with steel joists, a masonry exterior, and a modified bitumen roof. Emerson High School now provides a state-of-the-art learning facility for high school students and an area of refuge in the McKinney community.
