Scope Of Work
To aid the City in its response to the COVID-19 threat, the New York City Department of Design & Construction (DDC) hired Gilbane to provide construction management services for the three Centers of Excellence facilities leased by New York City Health + Hospitals (NYC H+H). These first-of-a-kind health centers provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services to COVID-19 survivors. The locations selected by NYC H+H were targeted to serve disadvantaged communities in Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens.
In Brooklyn, Gilbane managed the construction of a 70,000 SF facility including a new roof, infrastructure, structural rehabilitation, and an interior fit-out for miscellaneous examinations, maternity, dental, and modalities including X-ray, Bone Density, CT and MRI.
In the Bronx, Gilbane managed the construction of a 23,000 SF facility, including infrastructure and an interior fit-out for miscellaneous examinations, maternity, and dental suites.
In Queens, Gilbane managed the construction of the 18,000 SF facility, including infrastructure and an interior fit-out for miscellaneous examinations, maternity, and dental.
A design-build approach was utilized on site. Gilbane, trade contractors, NYC DDC, NYC H+H and the design team collocated on the sites.
