Alastair Jenkin's Bio
Alastair Jenkin joined Gilbane Development Company in March of 2022 as Senior Vice President, Multifamily. His proven leadership in acquisition, financing, entitlement, design, development, and operation of multifamily and workforce housing will expand Gilbane’s mission of ‘Developing Dynamic Communities’ throughout the United States.
Prior to joining Gilbane Development Company, Alastair served as Senior Vice President of Development of The NRP Group, where he was responsible for all aspects of development for market rate and workforce housing, with over $885 million in originations, totaling 4,700 units.
Mr. Jenkin holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas and an MBA from Texas State University.
Darin Early's Bio
Mr. Early’s focus at Gilbane Development Company is managing and expanding public private partnership initiatives nationwide. With 15+ years of experience in real estate and investment, he has served in several leadership roles including President and COO of the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, a government entity responsible for investing in and growing Rhode Island’s economy. As an executive Vice President at JLL, Early advised regional and national clients on complex real estate investments and development projects across multiple property types, including the World Trade Center redevelopment, and disposition of the Hudson Yards in Manhattan.
Mr. Early holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The George Washington University and is active in several charities.
Edward T. Broderick's Bio
As President and CEO of Gilbane Development Company, Ed Broderick is responsible for the company’s strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations, fostering consistent performance and customer satisfaction.
He has 35 years of experience in the engineering, development and management industries, including oversight of project and development management personnel, assisting project teams from building inception through completion, contract preparation and negotiations, staffing assignments and project financial monitoring.
Mr. Broderick joined Gilbane’s comprehensive management training program in 1982. This four-year learning opportunity provided him with a full overview of the construction industry and expanded his knowledge of the company’s structural organization. Mr. Broderick has served in many capacities including project engineer, project manager and development manager on build-to-suit projects for clients such as First Data Corporation, BNY Mellon and the Columbia Energy Group. In 1999, he was named Vice President of Operations for Gilbane Development and then promoted to Executive Vice President in January 2008. In January 2014 he was named President, and in January 2018 he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer.
Ed holds a BS from Manhattan College and an MBA from Providence College. He is a member of NAIOP, the Urban Land Institute, the Boy Scouts of America Executive Board, the Bishops Real Estate Committee, and has served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA.
John D. Keegan, P.E.'s Bio
As Vice President for Gilbane Development Company, John Keegan possesses over 30 years of experience in all facets of the real estate development and construction industries. He is a leader in public-private partnerships.
John has extensive expertise in transaction structuring and regulatory/finance activities, and has over the past several years developed a portfolio of projects for state, local, federal, K-12 and higher education clients, including the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is past Chair of the Real Estate Institute National Council for Public-Private Partnerships.
John has also been active in the development of student housing, including projects at George Mason University (Graduate Student Housing), Garrett College, Centenary College, Rhode Island School of Design, 1200 West Marshall, Illinois State University, and Western Michigan University.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Brown University, and an MBA in Real Estate and Urban Development from American University.
Matthew P. Lawrence's Bio
As the Chief Financial Officer of Gilbane Development Company, Matt Lawrence is responsible for finance, accounting and risk management.
Mr. Lawrence manages the Company’s banking, lending and capital relationships. He is involved with financing, structuring and executing transactions, oversees the overall due diligence process, structures and implements tax saving strategies, sets accounting and reporting policy and is responsible for all internal and external financial reports.
Matt joined Gilbane Development Company in 2003 after working 14 years in public accounting for Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche specializing in real estate audit and consulting. Mr. Lawrence holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts. He is a Certified Public Accountant, member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.
Robert V. Gilbane's Bio
Mr. Gilbane founded the development arm of Gilbane, Inc. As Chairman, he manages and provides leadership to the Gilbane Development Company Board of Directors and its Investment Committee, reviews and provides input to the Company’s strategic vision, and supports the company’s expansion into new markets.
Bob has led the company in the development of a wide range of projects throughout the United States, including oversight of student housing projects, single and multi-family housing, mixed-use facilities, operation and data centers, distribution and manufacturing facilities, medical/hospital facilities, corporate headquarters, and many other types of facilities delivered through public/private partnerships. His long-term perspective as owner-developer of millions of square feet nationally provides the insight and experience necessary to create maximum investment value for our clients.
Bob is a member of the Urban Land Institute, Rhode Island Commodores, and Rhode Island Builders Association, and serves on the Board of Directors at Gilbane, Inc., Gilbane Building Company, and Gilbane Development Company. He is a former chairman and a member of the executive committee of the Providence Foundation, former chairman of the Rhode Island chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and former board member of the Providence Preservation Society and of Sovereign Bank and Old Colony Bank. Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
Robert V. Gilbane Jr.'s Bio
Robert “Bobby” Gilbane Jr. has participated in public-private partnerships including mixed-use developments and affordable housing. In addition to managing relationships with municipalities to acquire special funding, he is also involved with the strategic direction, planning, approval and design of various developments.

Bobby joined Gilbane Development Company in March 2012 after working for as an Associate Analyst and Senior Associate at Moody’s Investor Services. He is a member of NAIOP Northern Virginia, Urban Land Institute, Maryland Building Industry Association, Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers, and CompeteDC – CEO Growth Academy.

Thomas M. Laird, Jr.'s Bio
Tom Laird, Jr. oversees the firm’s Central/Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southwest and Western offices where his operational responsibility includes profit and loss and ensuring the execution of the company’s ‘One Company’ vision, strategy and business plan. He also oversees Gilbane Reconstruction Services which provides clients with disaster response services.
Prior to becoming an executive vice president 2012, Tom served as senior vice president/regional manager for Gilbane’s Central Region where he led a six-state area that, during his tenure, experienced steady growth and was consistently ranked the #1 builder in Cleveland and Columbus and recognized as one of the area’s best places to work. He has an impressive portfolio of experience working with clients including the World Bank and the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C.; the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, MD; the Cleveland Clinic Data Center, Cleveland Museum of Art, Flats East Bank Development, the University Hospitals’ Ahuja Medical Center, and Seidman Cancer Center, all in Cleveland, OH; and the Goodyear Tire & Rubber World Headquarters in Akron, OH.
Tom serves as board chairman for the ACE Mentor Program of Cleveland and in 2012 was the recipient of the Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Non-Profit Board Executive of the Year for his work with ACE. He also serves on the board of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, the Providence House and the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation. He is an active volunteer with Rebuilding Together Cleveland; a past member of the Finance Council at Holy Trinity Parish in Cleveland and a past board member and chairman of the Facilities Committee at Saint Joseph Academy in Cleveland. Torben Arend's Bio
As Vice President, Senior Development Manager at Gilbane Development Company, Mr. Arend facilitates and manages the development of diverse projects across the country.
His role includes integrating the transaction, design and construction aspects of educational, commercial, residential and industrial projects.
Torben has over 20 years of experience in construction, management, design, finance and development. He has been the project executive on multiple student apartment and P3 projects including 600,000 SF state office building and 1,700-car garage for the State of Wisconsin; a 250,000 SF conference center and hotel for Texas A&M; College Town, a 300,000 Sf mixed-use housing ; and numerous student housing projects nationwide.
Torben holds a Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University and an MBA in Finance from Boston College.

Bob Gagliardi's Bio
Bob Gagliardi has been employed by Gilbane for over 40 years and is responsible for the overall performance of Gilbane Development Company’s owned and third party real estate portfolios.
In his present capacity he is responsible for the facilities management and leasing activities for a diverse portfolio of real estate including commercial, residential, industrial, and retail facilities.
Through his experience and professional training, Bob was awarded the Certified Facility Manager designation from the International Facility Management Association and the Certified Property Managers designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.
In addition to this professional experience, Bob is very active in community development and serves as a board member for the Providence Downtown Improvement District and on the Providence Foundation’s Tax Committee. In the past, he has also served on the boards for the Rhode Island Building and Owner’s Association, and First Works Providence.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Economics from Providence College and an MBA from Bryant College.
John Fumosa's Bio
Fumosa is a 37-year veteran of the construction business and has built an impressive track record of delivering major facilities for builders in the New Jersey, Philadelphia and New York markets. In those roles he oversaw a broad range of responsibilities related to higher education, healthcare, corporate, sports and other facilities.

Blaise Rastello II's Bio
Blaise Rastello joined Gilbane Development Company in 2015 as Development Director, and has nearly 20 years of valuable real estate development and financing experience. Mr. Rastello has led developments for non-profit housing companies, served as development consultant performing feasibility analysis and development plans, and has been involved in underwriting over $150 million in equity investment into affordable housing projects in New York and New Jersey. Mr. Rastello holds a BS in Regional Development and a BA in Natural Science and Mathematics from the University of Arizona, and an MS in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from Milano The New School of International Affairs Management and Urban Policy in New York.
Dennis M. Cornick's Bio
Dennis Cornick provides hands-on leadership to all of Gilbane’s business development teams, serves as the liaison to the executive management team on sales activities and is the executive liaison to the sales leader’s peer group. He administers the Gilbane University sales training program and is actively involved in business development manager recruitment and development. Dennis directs Gilbane’s Center of Excellence leaders in various market segments and oversees the company’s marketing and corporate communication efforts.
With more than 30 years of experience as a business developer in the A/E/C industry, Dennis has been with Gilbane 1990 and previously served as senior manager of business development and regional business development manager for multiple Gilbane regions. Cornick was the visionary leader behind the creation and evolution of centralizing Gilbane’s sales and marketing s group, establishment of a doer/seller approach, formulating a national account program, and expanding Gilbane’s presence in major cities across the United States. He was also one of the early drivers of Gilbane’s “One Company Approach” — a concept that has re-defined how employees interact with each other across the company and leverage the power of Gilbane to differentiate itself and provide value to its clients. Notable projects/clients he has been involved with include: New York City School Construction Authority; New Jersey Department of Community Affairs; New York State Office of General s; Dormitory Authority of the State of New York; New Jersey School Development Authority; State University of New York Construction Fund; the historic of the New Jersey State House; Essex County Correctional Facility; Parsippany Schools; and Rutgers University Football Stadium Expansion. Dennis is currently acting as principal-in-charge for multiple ongoing Gilbane projects in New York and New Jersey, including the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Recovery work for the State of New Jersey.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in marketing and management from St. John’s University.
Geoff Eisenacher's Bio
As Senior Development Director, Mr. Eisenacher coordinates all phases of the program development and partnership delivery process, manage contract negotiation, and partners with Gilbane leadership to increase the understanding and effectiveness of business objectives. He is responsible for conducting research and identifying potential strategic partnerships with the broader team to support the expansion of Gilbane Development Company.
Eisenacher brings 26 years of higher education P3 experience in student housing and campus infrastructure to Gilbane. He most recently served as a Partnership Solution Provider at another development firm where he engaged with administrative leaders and stakeholders to develop and implement complex sustainable solutions that address the needs of mission-driven organizations and students. Geoff’s nationwide experience includes the development, construction and operations of over $3.5 billion in student housing, both on and off campus that included the creation of the 40-year, $550 million public private partnership (P3) with the University System of Georgia (USG) to finance, construct and manage 3,753 new beds and 6,195 existing beds across nine campuses as well as leading the development of the 40-year, $307.5 million P3 with WSU to construct and manage 838 new beds and 2,852 existing beds.
Mr. Eisenacher holds a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio University and a minor in Business Administration.
Katherine Gray's Bio
Prior to Gilbane, Ms. Gray spent 20 years serving as a project manager for multi-million dollar projects, coordinating within and across public and private agencies.
Katherine is overseeing the development of The Peninsula, a transformational mixed-use project featuring 740 affordable units and Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) projects in the Bronx.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Science in Urban Planning from Columbia University.
Shawn Zimny's Bio
Mr. Zimny joined Gilbane Development Company in 2015 and has over 20 years of development and architectural experience overseeing large scale, mixed-use and multi-family developments. During that time frame, Mr. Zimny completed more than $1 billion in real estate across the United States. Mr. Zimny is also involved with the strategic direction, planning, approval and design of various developments including Madison Yards, a 14 acre, 1.8 million gross square foot, mixed-use, master planned development in Madison, WI.
