Gage Construction was started out of my passion for building. I
started my construction career in 1990 working with insulation.
Needless to say, it was not a fun introduction to the industry, yet it
reinforced a strong work ethic. In 1994 I moved on to work with a
national homebuilder as an Assistant Superintendent, in charge of
taking over homes after drywall was stocked. I enjoyed the interaction
with the customers. It was great seeing their home come together and
taking part in the final leg of their journey. In 1996 I was promoted
to a Site Superintendent position, responsible for
the construction activities for a particular subdivision. Being
charged with ensuring all homebuilding ran efficiently on a site was a
growing and very maturing experience. 3 years later I was fortunate
enough to be promoted to a Project Manager. Within this role, I was
charged with multiple subdivisions inside a specific geographical
area. It was a great experience to take part in the overall
coordination across various municipalities and multiple home plans. In
2002 I was blessed to become the Director of Construction, and
eventually adding Customer Service to my responsibility. I was
responsible for all the daily activities of the construction and
warranty departments. All the while learning the importance of
ensuring all necessary steps are taken to enable the efficient, safe,
and quality construction of all homes. Finally, in 2008 I moved to SC
to continue to pursue my passion of home building. As my career moved
forward, there has always been these constants: the continued passion
for construction, a respect for the industry, an aspiration to
continually learn, and the sincere desire to see customers truly
pleased with their new home.
