Scope Of Work

Situated next to the new Salesforce Terminal on the intersection of First and Mission Street in San Francisco, the Oceanwide Center is a mixed-use project including two high rise towers. The 1st Street Tower will be a 910 foot tall, 61-story building with a 4 story basement. The Mission St Tower will be a 54-story tall building with a 3 story basement and will include the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Malcolm was hired by the Swinerton/Webcor Joint Venture to install the deep foundation, temporary shoring and mass excavation on this $1.6B project. Our scope includes the installation of 330 foot deep drilled shafts with up to 60 foot deep rock sockets. Malcolm utilized Bauer BG50 top drives and Leffer Oscillators to case to the top of rock on all the drilled shafts. The temporary shoring includes the installation of up to 140 foot deep CSM panels surrounding the two buildings that will be built on the site. Internal bracing is used to support the excavation which extends up to 74ft below grade.
