Scope Of Work
The Baldwin Park Transit Center parking structure hosts 506 stalls over five stories. The project consists of posttensioned parking decks and a design-build bridge over railroad tracks, leading to an elevator tower.
With part of the structure being built on Southern California Regional Rail Authority’s (SCRRA) land, and the bridge being placed over the track, PCL had to meet the submittal requirements for encroachment, right of entry, shoring, and hoisting set by the SCRRA before being allowed to commence construction. Neither the owner nor the owner’s representatives had ever been through this process before.
To ensure timely approvals by the SCRRA, the PCL team took the lead in coordinating all SCRRA submittals and SCRRA inspections, and the required Metrolink training. The PCL team’s ability to meet all deadlines through proper planning and execution led to a successful project for the City of Baldwin Park.
