Scope Of Work
The Continuing Education Mesa College Campus project is a two-story, 38,000-square-foot facility that consolidates continuing education operations of the San Diego Community College District. The Continuing Education Mesa College Campus serves San Diegans with a variety of curricula including English as a second language, brain-injury redevelopment programs, parent-child courses, and programs for adults age 55 and over. The campus is part of the larger San Diego Community College District. The new facility also features a parent/child space with an exterior play yard, a nutritional demonstration kitchenette, art classrooms with a ceramics yard and kiln, multipurpose rooms, classrooms, and administrative office areas. The project is LEED Silver certified.
By understanding the client’s concerns from the start of the project, PCL was able to coordinate small design and construction changes throughout the different project phases. These small changes resulted in direct savings in the building’s yearly maintenance cost and PCL exceeding the client's expectations.
