Scope Of Work
Phase 1 of the Iolani School development encompassed numerous projects on the prestigious campus. PCL constructed Kozuki Stadium, a 4-story, posttensioned concrete parking/multipurpose structure, and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Building, a 3-story, structural steel classroom building. The team also completed extensive renovations to accommodate new classroom spaces and administration areas.
Nordic Construction provided design-assist preconstruction services for approximately nine months, offering more than 100 value-engineering ideas to reduce the original budget by 5%.
Although the project was large and logistically complex, completion of Kozuki Stadium and the Weinberg Building was accelerated to be accomplished in 14.5 months so that the client could use the new facility for the 2003 academic year.
