Scope Of Work
The one-million-square-foot Olympic West Parking Structure accommodates 2,683 cars attending events in or around LA LIVE, STAPLES Center, and the Los Angeles Convention Center. The structure is three levels below grade and two levels at and above grade.
This was a fasttrack project that started prior to design completion. Meeting the schedule to complete the garage for the opening of Nokia Theatre was a critical requirement of the City. Additionally, the project was important structurally because of the conference center and cinema that would be built on top of it at a later date. PCL worked closely with the owner to provide budget and constructability review during the design process. During construction, PCL modified the schedule to work around changes that resulted from design progression on the conference center and cinema. Where areas were put on hold by the architect, PCL progressed in alternate places to facilitate work flow.
