Scope Of Work
The Coolidge Senior High School project was comprised of renovations and construction to modernize the existing 271,300 square foot building that was originally built in 1940, and the adjoining 190,000 square foot Frank Williams Activity Center that was originally built in 1984.
The modernized building additions included two atrium spaces, a middle school, a community health clinic, day care center, creating a more practical and collaborative learning space that will ultimately benefit the school's students, parents, faculty, a surrounding community members.
The existing school remained operational throughout construction. Occupants were relocated to modular classrooms located north of the site to maintain the highest levels of safety and security of the students and faculty members while the building underwent construction.
Turner also provided site and operational improvements to the building and the exterior athletic field including the transformation of exterior courtyards into interior programmed spaces with large sky lights, and upgrades to the existing bleachers and press box. Upon completion, the project achieved LEED Gold Certification.
