Scope Of Work
Velez completed numerous high-end renovations for Consolidated Edison (Con Ed) at their Manhattan offices. The work took place in their main auditorium, control room strategic operations room.
The 19th floor main auditorium required a complete renovation modernization. The work included a new Audio/Visual center, a three-movie screen stage, ADA compliance, installing new bathrooms building support spaces. Additionally, all mechanical, electrical/data/audio visual fire safety issues were upgraded. The project was completed in time for ConEd’s 2001 shareholders meeting – an important milestone as it was the first time the meeting was held at the headquarters in recent company history. The value of the project was $2 million, was completed in 2000.
The job also required a new control room that would monitor all utility activity for the Metropolitan area. The work involved the development of a high technology control room which included substantial data electrical lines, millwork, glass interior partitions, mechanical fire safety upgrades.
The final component of the job was renovating the strategic operations room, located on the 16th floor of the building, which serves as the executive floor for the whole organization. Work involved substantial finish work, millwork, glass interior partitions, mechanical, plumbing, electrical upgrades.
