Scope Of Work
Located 5 miles southwest of downtown Memphis, the Allen Combined-Cycle Plant is a 1,100 MW natural gas-fired power plant that replaces Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) almost 60-year-old Allen Fossil Plant. Kiewit was the EPC contractor for the new 2x1 combined-cycle facility, which features two GE 7HA.02 combustion turbines and a Toshiba steam turbine.
With its state-of-the-art technology, Allen is the most efficient power plant in TVA’s gas fleet. The site is also now home to more than 3,000 solar panels built alongside the new combined-cycle plant, which provide just under 1 MW of power.
The Allen Combined-Cycle Plant began supplying power to the grid in April 2018.
