Carlsen Design & Construction is a Washington, DC based boutique remodeling and construction firm using the design/build process throughout Washington DC, and Maryland. Our work includes whole/ partial building renovations and new build for both commercial and residential. Green building practices are integral to all our construction processes.

Our full-time staff includes carpenters, project managers, and administrative support. Our team is strengthened by long-term relationships with our subcontractors. They respond quickly when problems arise and are committed to delivering top quality work on every one of our projects.

Gregory Carlsen started the company in 2001. He brings a strong commitment and professionalism to every project. Before starting his construction company he served in the United States Marine Corps, worked for a financial services company doing mergers and acquisitions, and then later was a self-employed management consultant working overseas. He has a BA from Rollins College and an MBA from the University of South Carolina.
