In the early hours of the summer of 1969 at the age of 11 I was
taught the value of a hard day’s work and the honor of a man’s word.
These lessons were given to me by the man I respect most in the world:
my father Richard Avila. He passed on these virtue’s from his father
and were simply the greatest gifts I have ever received in my
lifetime. I didn’t know this at the time as I surely had no idea that
not being able to play with my friends as the other kids did would be
the coolest way to grow up and be able to learn these lessons and see
what life was about at such an young age. Learning to work hard and
expect nothing to ever be handed to you by anyone and all while
keeping your word and earning an honest dollar were lessons I am so
grateful to have learned from the hardest working man I have ever
known. I have never lost sight of those lessons and honor my father by
working hard and never breaking my word.
Being someone that has worked very hard for everything and have taken
that same approach to sports many times in my life and having great
success doing exactly what my father had taught me. I worked very hard
I have always kept my word and never at any time expected anyone to
ever give me anything I didn’t deserve . That mindset has taken me to
be the team captain in six World Championship Water Ski Racing Teams,
to be the first Water Ski Racer to ever be inducted into the Water Ski
Hall of Fame, To more than 25 National Championships both skiing and
boat racing. I was an undefeated high school wrestler and have built
the World's Most Beautiful Motorcycle in 2010. These lessons my father
taught me of working hard for everything and always keeping your word
even if it’s to yourself are thedriving force behind all of these
accomplishments. These sports endeavor’s also taught me how use
teamwork to achieve your highest of levels in anything you seek to accomplish.
Teamwork along with a very strong work ethic is what my team and I
strive for here at MRC. We have built a very strong team of
subcontractors and building alliances with surety companies and
suppliers. This hard working team approach is the main reason MRC has
been as successful as we have. As president and CEO I continue to use
the lesson’s my father taught me each and every day to guide MRC
along the same path of working hard for our clients. Giving them an
honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. Always keeping our word and
delivering our projects on schedule and within budget. We are very
proud of what we stand for and very proud of the vast team of
employees and construction partners. We look forward to serving your
needs with the very same old fashioned honest hard working approach
that my father used for so many years to build your project andto make
lasting friendships with all of our development partners.
