Scope Of Work
Lynch submitted a successful bid proposal in January of 2018 to perform surface, safety, and landscape improvements to the RIDOT’s East Bay Bike Path. The bikeway was constructed in four phases from 1987 to 1992 and has experienced continual use from residents, students, tourists and commuters to Providence over the past 30 plus years. The scope of work for this project included removing and replacing deteriorated pavement sections, micromilling and resurfacing pavement, cleaning and sealing cracks along the pavement, and applying asphalt emulsion to repaired sections of the path. One of the challenges of this project was to perform improvements to the pavement structure and subbase while minimizing impacts to the various users of the path. Lynch was able to work within the strict traffic management restrictions, often completing repairs to the subbase in a single shift to maintain continuity in the riding surface.
