Alex Gutenson's Bio
Alex joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2011 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Base Building Operations. Alex’s external role includes business development, client relations and pre-construction. His internal role is focused on providing the planning and leadership necessary to support and grow our base building teams. Alex has over thirty years of experience across varied markets such as office, logistics and mission-critical design and construction.
Alex’s career brings a depth of experience focused on operations. Starting his career as a superintendent in the residential market, Alex focused on production, quality and safety. He then moved on to project management in the commercial market, where he was involved in estimating, project document control, subcontractor procurement and cost management. Prior to being promoted to Senior Vice President, Alex was acting as Vice President of Base Building Operations for E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.
He is affiliated with Association of Builders and Contractors, NAIOP and 7×24 Exchange. He holds professional accreditations including LEED AP, ASHE Certified Healthcare Constructor and Certified Data Center Manager.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Virginia Tech along with multiple professional certifications. He lives in Vienna, Virginia, with his wife Angie and four children: Kailtlin, Josh, Jake and Luke. Outside of the office, you can find Alex mountain biking, fishing, wakeboarding or snowboarding with friends and family.
Andy Craighill's Bio
Andy joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2006 and currently serves as Vice President of Corporate Interiors. In this role, Andy is responsible for business development, client relations and pre-construction for our clients while providing leadership and management to our project teams. Andy has over 22 years of industry experience.
Andy’s career brings a depth of knowledge from his experience focused on project management. Starting his career as an assistant project manager and then project manager, Andy gained experience in client relations, estimating, project document control, subcontractor procurement and cost management. As a project manager, Andy delivered a diverse mix of projects across market segments and including both base building and interiors. Prior to being promoted to Vice President, Andy was acting as a Senior Project Manager for E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.
He is affiliated with Association of Builders and Contractors and NAIOP. Andy has won three NAIOP awards and led project teams that received five awards of excellence from Fairfax County. He holds professional accreditations including LEED AP and Certified Data Center Manager (CDCM).
Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Union College in New York. He lives in South Riding, Virginia, with his wife Marta and three sons: Matthew, Jacob, and Alex. Outside of the office, he enjoys many outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, golf and hockey with his friends and family.
Cary Brown's Bio
Cary joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2021 and currently serves as Vice President of Pre-construction. In this role, Cary is responsible for business development, client relations, and leading pre-construction efforts for our clients. She has 16 years of industry experience.
Cary’s career brings a unique perspective based on her experience focused on estimating management. Starting out as a project manager, she quickly learned that her passion lived in the pre-construction process. With a transition to estimating in 2010, Cary gained a variety of experience managing projects including interior renovations, resorts, hospitals, and mission critical facilities. She was working in the industry as a Senior Estimator before joining E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast as Vice President.

Cary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown University. She lives in Nokesville, Virginia, with her husband Rob and three children. When not working, she enjoys watching her kids play sports, traveling, and a good glass of wine.
Doug Meadows's Bio
Doug Meadows joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2011 and currently serves as Vice President of Base Building Operations. In his role, responsibilities include business development, pre-construction, and operations management. In addition, he provides project executive oversight, which includes quality control, safety, cost management, subcontractor and client relations, and employee training. Doug has over 25 years of industry experience.
Doug’s career brings a variety of experience in both field and project management. Starting his career as a superintendent, Doug focused on quality control and safety during the execution of a project. He then moved on to project management, where he was involved in estimating, project document control, subcontractor procurement and cost management. Prior to being promoted to Vice President, Doug was acting as a Senior Project Manager for E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.
Doug holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Virginia Tech. He lives in Warrenton, Virginia, with his wife Christine and four children. In his downtime, Doug loves to spend time with his family, golf, watch sports, hike and spend time outdoors in the mountains or at the beach.

Doug Peterson's Bio
Doug joined the E.E. Reed family in 1992 and currently serves as President & Chief Operating Officer of E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast. Doug’s primary role is to manage and help mitigate project risk and ensure E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast delivers on the promises made to our clients, a cornerstone of the business. He believes that by keeping promises and prioritizing integrity, it helps elevate all employees to achieve their full potential. Leading teams to create and maintain client relationships, honor our commitments and deliver outstanding projects is extremely gratifying. Doug has over 35 years of experience and is a familiar presence within the construction industry in the Washington, D.C. area market.
After graduating from Texas A&M University, Doug started his career as a carpenter, field engineer and superintendent in California. In 1992, he joined E.E. Reed Construction Company in Houston, Texas as a Project Manager. Over the course of the next 12 years, he worked his way up to Vice President working for Zapalac/Reed Construction in Austin, a member of the Reed Family of companies. In 2004, he relocated to Virginia to serve as Executive Vice President overseeing the entire East Coast operations of the E.E. Reed Construction, L.P. In 2018, Doug became a partner with the Reed Family and President and COO of E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.
Doug has a long history of industry service, he has been and continues as guest lecturer for multiple Universities and organizations in and around Virginia, focusing on project management, estimating, scheduling and contract administration. He serves on the executive board of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Virginia and is the 2022 Chairman. He is also affiliated with NAIOP and 7×24 exchange.
Doug holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Texas A&M University. He lives in Round Hill, Virginia, with his wife Michele and two golden retrievers, Jackson and Stetson. Outside of the office, Doug enjoys reading, golf, hiking, surfing, snowshoeing and snow skiing.
Eric Dooley 's Bio
Eric joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2016 and currently serves as Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Interiors. In this position, Eric provides key oversight and leadership to our internal teams to ensure successful outcomes on every pursuit. In addition, he provides an important role in business development, client relations and pre-construction for our customers. Eric has over thirty years of experience in various fields including architecture and woodworking design.
Eric’s management expertise came from his experience in the Marine Corps, where he learned that everyone has a capability to become an effective leader. His passion lies in watching his teams grow while providing the teamwork and support to lead them to success. His eye for detail led him to a career as an Architect in New York City, successfully executing his client’s vision on large-scale and historically significant projects. After 4 years of practicing architecture, Eric’s desire to build those details led him to a career in commercial construction. Prior to being promoted to Senior Vice President, Eric served as Vice President and Director of Interiors at E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.
Eric’s expertise in design and construction has led to success in the form of industry awards, including:

Prior to his time here, Eric was awarded five additional times, recognizing his attention to craftmanship and overall quality of project construction from Washington Building Congress, Associated Builders and Contractors, NAIOP, and the Architectural Woodwork Institute. This well-decorated team member is also a member of Associated Builders and Contractors, NAIOP and CoreNet.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee. He lives in Leesburg, Virginia, with his wife Kim and two dogs: Max and Stella. In his downtime, he enjoys fly-fishing, hiking with his dogs and camping. He has a passion for helping others that has led him to become actively involved in Project Healing Waters, bringing fly-fishing to disabled active military service personnel across the military healthcare system. In 2021, E.E. Reed East Coast voted to dedicate funds from its annual golf tournament to the cause, raising over $7,000.
Jeff Smith's Bio
Jeff joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2020 and currently serves as Vice President of our Savannah, Georgia location. In this role, Jeff is responsible for business development, client relations and pre-construction for our clients while providing operations leadership and management to our project teams. He is also responsible for establishing and growing the Savannah market segment and brings the regional knowledge required to do so. Jeff has over 20 years of industry experience in the Southeast market.
Jeff’s career brings a depth of knowledge from his experience in operations management. Starting his career as a field engineer and working his way up to operations manager, Jeff gained a wealth of experience in client relations, estimating, project document control, subcontractor procurement, cost management, and overall operational strategy. Because 90% of the projects Jeff managed were design-build, he was able to amass considerable knowledge as to the design aspects and value engineering advantages in the logistics, process, and manufacturing markets. Throughout his career, Jeff delivered a diverse mix of projects across market segments including both base building and interiors. Prior to being promoted to Vice President, Jeff was acting as a Senior Project Manager/Operations Manager for another general contractor.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida. He lives in Savannah, Georgia, with his girlfriend Ruth. When not in the office, he enjoys golf and working on his carpentry skills in his shop. He and Ruth are also very active with local shelters and foster dogs prior to their adoption. He is also an avid Florida Gators football fan, which can make life interesting living in Georgia.

Kevin joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2021 and currently serves as Vice President of Base Building Operations. In this role, Kevin is responsible for business development, client relations and pre-construction for our clients while providing leadership and management to our project teams. Kevin has over 30 years of industry experience.
Kevin’s career brings a wealth of knowledge from his experience focused on the Washington, DC market. For a majority of his career, he worked for another construction firm in the Washington DC region. During this time, he was responsible for the management and growth of their Government Market sector. Kevin was instrumental in making this contractor a market leader for public sector projects. His technical expertise helps teams navigate the complexities of delivering successful projects to his clients. Prior to joining E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast as Vice President, Kevin was acting as Vice President at another firm.

Kevin lives in Severna Park Maryland with his wife Bonnie and three children: Paige, Alex, and Anna. When not building great projects, Kevin enjoys offshore fishing, hunting, and playing golf amongst other sports.

Mike Quadro joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2006 and currently serves as Vice President of Concrete and Dry Utility Operations. In his role, Mike provides management and leadership for the company’s self-perform concrete operations including pre-construction, scheduling and crew management. In addition, he provides project executive oversight, which includes quality control, safety, cost management, subcontractor and client relations, and employee training. Mike has over 20 years of industry experience.
Mike’s career brings a depth of knowledge from his experience focused on project management. Starting his career as an assistant project manager and then project manager, Mike gained experience in client relations, estimating, project document control, subcontractor procurement and cost management. In his career, Mike delivered a diverse mix of projects across the region including Tilt office & warehouses & manufactories, schools, multi-story office buildings, parking garages, libraries, etc. in both the public and private sectors. Prior to being promoted to Vice President, Mike was acting as a Senior Project Manager for E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.

Shannon Kuali`i joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2008 and currently serves as Vice President of Base Building Operations. In this role her responsibilities include business development, pre-construction, and operations management. In addition, she provides project executive oversight, which includes quality control, safety, cost management, subcontractor and client relations, and employee training. Shannon has over 17 years of industry experience.
Shannon’s career brings a depth of knowledge from her extensive experience in project management. From her start in the industry as a project engineer through her time as a Sr. project manager, Shannon gained experience in client relations, estimating, project document control, subcontractor procurement and cost management. As a project manager, Shannon excelled as her attention to detail resulted in successful projects across a broad spectrum, including public sector, higher education, and mission critical facilities. Prior to her promotion to Vice President, Shannon was acting as a Senior Project Manager for E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.

Bobby Cady joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2006 and currently serves as General Superintendent. Bobby’s primary role is to provide field management across multiple projects, ensuring our teams are meeting schedule, construction and safety plans. He also provides the planning and leadership necessary to support and grow our operations teams. Bobby has 20 years of experience in the industry.
Bobby’s love for construction started at a young age as he tagged along with his dad, also a General Superintendent, to jobsites. Following that passion into his career, he gained experience superintending a multitude of base building and interior renovation projects. Prior to being promoted to General Superintendent, Bobby was acting as Project Superintendent for E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.

Rick Hebert joined E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast in 2015 and currently serves as General Superintendent. Rick’s primary role is to provide field management across multiple projects, ensuring our teams are meeting schedule, construction, and safety plans. He also provides the planning and leadership necessary to support and grow our operations teams. Rick has over forty-five years of experience in the industry.
Rick’s career brings a depth of experience focused on field operations. Rick has a variety of market experience ranging from retail centers, office complexes, aquatic centers, concrete tilt warehouses/distribution centers, precast structures, office buildings and a multitude of interior build-outs. Prior to his promotion to General Superintendent, Rick was acting as a Project Superintendent for E.E. Reed Construction – East Coast.
He is an Associated Builders and Contractors member and was nominated for DC’s 2008 MSA Superintendent of the Year.
Rick lives on his farm in Culpeper, Virginia, with his wife Karen and has three children: Ashley, Skye and Colton. Outside of work, his goats, horses and chickens keep him busy year-round. Aside from managing his farm, he also enjoys golf and fishing.
