The services provided by the firm included planning, design, construction administration, and construction inspection for the new concrete apron and asphalt taxi lanes, passenger loading bridges, hydrant fueling, primary utility corridors (water, sewer, fire protection, electric and communications), storm water management systems, contamination cleanup, airfield lighting, and pavement markings. The airside work was divided into ten separate construction packages and was phased to support the overall development program while maintaining airline operations immediately adjacent to the construction. The work was completed in the midst of the American Airlines hub operation at Miami by reconfiguring existing terminal areas and parking aprons, which required detailed maintenance of traffic and safety plans in close cooperation with the airport and airlines operations staff.
