Commercial Door Controls

Fresh out of the Army, In 1945, my Dad, Wallace Norris, started his career by working for PPG Industries in Raleigh, NC. After three years of glazing and storefront work for PPG, he moved back to his hometown, Dunn, NC and started his own company: "Dunn Glass Company". 

In the late 60's, after being hampered by health issues, he was forced to close his business and retire.  Never being one to sit still for very long, he decided to start a less physically taxing door repair and closer remanufacturing business, literally out of the trunk of his car.  

Commercial Door Service (later to become Commercial Door Controls)  became an instant success.  With a lower overhead, and by remanufacturing his own door closers, he could save money for every customer, from mom-and-pop country stores to mega-malls.  His business soon grew to include providing many glass companies with his remanufactured products, as well as, new door products.  

Dad's winning personality, his "you first mentality" and integrity were the reasons for his great success in his personal life.   His great business sense, "top notch" products, service and loyalty were the reasons for his great success in business.  

We are proud of our heritage and the legacy he passed on to us. To this day, his original business model remains intact..  It still works for us and most of all, for you, our customers.
