Scope Of Work
In early May of 2015, the Three Fires Council of the Boy Scouts were presented with an unexpected opportunity and challenge. The opportunity was in the form of a donor coming forward who wanted to see a shooting center developed for the use and benefit of the scouts who make up the Three Fires Council of St Charles, IL. The challenge was that the center needed to be developed yet that spring for use during the summer programs, which would start only 6 weeks later. Camp Freeland Leslie had expanded its rifle range the spring before and had land available for the development of a new skeet and trap range.
Details and plans were developed over the next two weeks and construction on the range began the last week of May. Eighteen working days later, the new Bitton Family Skeet and Trap Range was completed and available for use by the first scouts who arrived on Saturday June 19th and throughout the balance of the summer.
