Scope Of Work
Rice ISD recently faced the challenge of overcrowding in their elementary and middle school
facilities as well as needing to improve the technological and learning enviroments. ACI was
brought onboard to explore various options including combining a portion of the elementary school
with the middle school. Using this concept, ACI was able to provide a design that would save the
district both time and cost.
The school building contains 24 classrooms, two art labs, two science labs and two computer labs
split evenly between the intermediate and middle sides of the school. Both sides share a common
library, dual administration areas between the sides, a cafeteria and kitchen with dual serving lines,
a gymnasium featuring retractable seating for multiple use applications, athletic and P.E.
lockerrooms as well as a band hall with several practice rooms.
