Scope Of Work
Construction manager for two projects at Silver Towers and Washington Square Village spanning four buildings that required replacement of 5000+ exterior windows, doors and PTAC units. These projects supported the University in their quest to enhance quality of life for those who utilize the buildings by improving insulation, efficiency, and sound attenuation of the windows and air conditioners.
Outside of the buildings, sidewalk bridging and lighting (as required by the New York City Department of Buildings) provided protection. Since the size of the window frames exceeded that of the elevators, crews used exterior hoists on the south and east side of the buildings to transport the double-paned windows to each floor. Material storage was fenced off and located between the two buildings.
Resident communications and logistics planning were vital to ensure the comfort of the residents. Along with the project superintendent, we enlisted assistance from a security professional to monitor each floor during the installation process. A single installation occurred over the course of three days; one day for apartment preparation, another for PTAC unit installation and one for window installation.
