Overview:
Symbiont and the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) partnered on a project to convert an existing impervious parking area and a building demolition site into a pervious parking lot. The project proposal focused on examining the design, installation, durability, performance, and maintenance issues of pervious pavements, particularly issues encountered during winter operations. The Symbiont/MSOE proposal was selected out of thirteen submittals by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) and received $332,000 in project improvements funding. A local environmental engineering firm was contracted to design and construct the project
