Scope Of Work
In 2002, JE Dunn was hired to preserve and restore the historic Kansas State House located in the heart of Topeka.
This project was designed as a 10-year, six-phase project that allowed for staggered completion dates of the interior restoration of the East, West, North and South wings. Much on the interior space was restored to its earlier grandeur and included the restoration of the Governor's office to it circa 1900 design. Upgrades to the heating/cooling systems and added state-of-the-art technology are included.
Additional phases have included the construction of a new 2-level, 561-car underground parking garage situated below the north lawn. new underground vaults for additional office space and new mechanical systems, a new visitor's center with a U-shaped drivem and a north plaza out of the project.
