Scope Of Work
This 3-story wood framed project provides 18-units of affordable housing for local senior citizens and was being developed by Metro West Community Development.
40 River Street, Norwell was the home of the former Norwell Police Station. After the police station was relocated, the 20,000 sf building sat abandoned on the 2.5 acre lot.
Due to real estate tax increases, Norwell was becoming unaffordable for many seniors. The town decided to repurpose the old police station into affordable housing for local seniors.
The developer, Metro West Community Development, raised funding for this project from the Department of Housing and Community Development and Norwell’s Community Preservation Act Fund.
