Scope Of Work
Providing design/build services, Moss worked closely with the owner and designers throughout design and construction to deliver this 178,000 SF student housing facility on time and in budget while keeping NSU’s campus in full operation. Constructed under “green” building standards, the new four and five story structure provides living quarters for 528 students.
Its unique concept consists of independently accessible groups of rooms called “communities”, housing students sharing similar academic fields and/or social interests. Each community features 20 to 30 rooms with one and two bedroom units, bathrooms, and common areas including a lounge, study area, storage and trash rooms. Two northern modules provide guest suites, area director apartments as well as additional lounge areas, kitchens, laundry rooms, mail and meeting rooms. The southern module houses building wide support spaces including computer labs, dividable multi-purpose rooms, a control desk, and administrative offices. The challenging project represented one of 26 consecutive projects that Moss has built for this prestigious university.
