Scope Of Work
Hensel Phelps Construction Company awarded a contract to Baker for the total concrete package. The 25-floor comprehensive outpatient care center is located in the Texas Medical Center It is a part of the Methodist Hospital's expansion plan to improve patient care and increase their presence in the community.
Design Assist: During the schematics process, Baker was involved by the client to review the drawings. The original design had the garage as a post tension beam and slab (6 floors) and the upper floors were regular reinforced pan slabs. After review, Baker recommended the use of one set of equipment instead of the two proposed and to do the entire project using pan slab. This was a cost savings as only one set of equipment was required.
