Scope Of Work
The Southeastern University Center for Excellence Nova Coral Reef Ecosystems Science Research Facility located in Hollywood, Florida, is a national and global leader in coral studies. The facility itself is an exposed concrete cast-in-place, six-story, and high-roof structure. The research center consists of over 6,000 cubic yards of concrete, 550 tons of reinforcing, 95,000 square feet of floor space, two sets of shear walls with cast-in-place stairs, and an average of 36 exposed columns per level. This beautiful seaside facility is not your typical building. The Nova Coral Reef Lab contains multiple overlapping radii, hundreds of exterior and interior embed plates, and slab thickness changes for laboratory spaces. Baker was able to meet the 14 week schedule with excellence, even while driving production.
