Looking to place 75,000+ cubic yards of concrete in a period of five months was the upcoming opportunity that faced Baker's project team at the National Alabama Corporation facility in Cherokee, Alabama. The new $380 million single-structure facility was designed to provide a low-cost, flexible operation for the manufacturing of freight railway cars. Baker's scope for this project included the pits, trenches, and slab-on-grade including all embedded angles and rails.
