Scope Of Work
After 15 years of evolving plans, construction began on the mixed-use Alma Plaza redevelopment project to provide residents in the surrounding South Palo Alto neighborhood a much-needed nearby supermarket. The four-acre project is comprised of 25,000 square feet of retail space, 37 single-family homes, 14 affordable rental apartment units, a small park and a community center.
Today, the plaza now known as the Alma Village and is home to retail shops, a grocery store, a residential area and attractive communal space.
J.J. Albanese showed off its “one-stop shop” capabilities with this project, beginning with the mass excavation through the structural concrete and finishing with the site concrete and paving. JJA’s pumping capabilities, with its 15-plus-pump fleet ranging in size from the 17-meter to the 61-meter, made this difficult 1,500 cubic yard mat pour another example of JJA “Just Getting it Done!” The experienced crew completed the two-level, 20,000 square foot concrete structure ahead of schedule, leaving the client and ownership group very pleased with the final product.
