Scope Of Work
Samsung’s Research and Development Campus, an 8.5-acre, 385,000-square-foot property, recently opened after a fast-paced construction timeframe. The campus features two six-story office buildings of 192,500 square feet each, plus two parking structures and an acre of open space. LEED Platinum certified, the project provides for up to a 20 percent reduction in auto trips, a reduction of water use by up to 30 percent, waste reduced by up to 50 percent, and also requires less overall energy than the 118,000-square-foot industrial campus that previously occupied the site.
J.J. Albanese was hired for multiple scopes on this project: demolition of four existing multiple-level tilt up buildings; grading and paving; pump, place and finish of more than 1,000,000 square feet of cast-in-place office buildings and parking structures; and the site concrete. JJA’s multiple scope approach ensured that the job would continue to move forward and on schedule, and the project was completed in just one year.
