Fermin is a Department of Defense-trained Geomatics Engineer with more than 20 years of applied experience and a diverse background in geomatics engineering, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying, design, construction management and strategic planning. He is a licensed Professional Surveyor registered in multiple states and a former adjunct instructor for the University of Wyoming. Fermin is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering, the National Society of Professional Surveyors and the American Association for Geodetic Surveying.

As President Southwest Region, Justin Kelton has leadership responsibility for all commercial markets within the Southwest, including Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado. His career with McCarthy began as a laborer on a hospital construction project. After several years in the trades and a stint in the United States Marine Corps, Justin became a project engineer in 2001 with McCarthy in the Southwest. He was quickly made a project director, and within a few years his professional construction career advanced him to vice president, senior vice president and executive vice president prior to him moving into his current role.
Over the years, Justin’s leadership has been instrumental in developing and expanding the region’s education services, including the launch of Job Order Contracting. In addition, his leadership has been essential to growing McCarthy's national solar, healthcare, municipal and commercial market sectors. He enjoys nurturing trusted relationships with clients and community leaders, while fostering an environment where engaged teams excel. He is currently serving the community as a board member of the American Heart Association’s Greater Phoenix Chapter and the Support Sky Harbor Coalition and is a member of the Arizona Builder’s Alliance American Society of Civil Engineers and WESTMARC.

Named regional president in January 2018, Mike reports directly to McCarthy President and COO Scott Wittkop. Mike formerly served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Castle Contracting for more than 16 years. During his tenure as COO of Castle, he was responsible for all field and office operations as well as the business development and estimating functions. Under his leadership, Castle has grown to a highly successful business with over 200 employees. After the McCarthy acquisition of Castle in late 2014, Mike became Executive Vice President and a member of the McCarthy Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to his relocation to California, Mike was also associated with the ACE Mentor Program of St. Louis, AGC of Missouri, Eastern Missouri Laborers and the Flags of Valor organization.

With nearly 25 years of development and construction experience, Tony helps oversee McCarthy’s education market in Southern California to ensure effective execution and strong client relationships. He also is responsible for enhancing and supporting new and emerging markets in the region, including solar, water and McCarthy’s Specialized Solutions group. During his career, Tony has served as a project superintendent, project director, division manager, project manager, regional executive, director of preconstruction. He continues to play a key role in pursuing opportunities that focus on creating an exceptional client experience and challenges for our partners. He holds a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering management from Oregon State University.

Alan Carroll is an Executive Vice President for the firm’s Southern California Region, overseeing McCarthy’s Parking Structure Business Unit in the region. Under his guidance, McCarthy has become the leading parking structure builder in the state, delivering parking solutions for healthcare, commercial, education and government clients.
With nearly 40 years of construction industry experience, Al has spent more than 26 of these with McCarthy, beginning his career as a Preconstruction Director and moving up to his current position. An expert in both traditional general contracting and design-build project delivery, he understands the unique challenges of parking construction projects and brings this expertise to bear on every project.
In addition to his role with McCarthy, Al is a certified member of the Design-Build Institute of America.

With nearly 25 years of experience in design integration and construction, he is a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). In addition, John is actively involved in the community, supporting local charities such as CHOC, Ronald McDonald House, and Taller San Jose, a non-profit providing construction career training to disadvantaged youth.

Amy Thompson is Director of Business Development for McCarthy’s Central Division based in Omaha, Neb. In this role, she is responsible for developing new and maintaining existing client relationships in Nebraska and western Iowa.
Amy began her career in advertising and marketing in the finance and tech industries, moving on to a client service role in the AEC industry. She has more than a decade of experience working with both contractors and designers, bringing a strong understanding of the complete design and construction process. Most recently, she spent the past seven years at Leo A Daly in Omaha focused on healthcare business development.
In 2016 Amy was chosen for Building Design & Construction’s 40 under 40 Award, honoring top professionals in the industry. She is active in the community, serving as CASA Sarpy Campaign Chair for Little CASA Su CASA for two years and on several local boards including the Nebraska Society of Healthcare Engineers and DBIA in Omaha. Amy also founded an AEC networking group called the Omaha Business Development Friday Afternoon Club, a formal network of AEC professionals and owners.

Paul King has more than 15 years of business development and marketing experience for the construction industry where he has focused on healthcare, commercial, parking structure, education, and specialty projects. In his role as vice president, business development, he is responsible for overseeing the business development and marketing team in Southern California while maintaining client relationships, developing the strategy for project pursuits, building strong project pursuit teams and seeking out new business opportunities throughout the region.
In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Paul is a former board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Orange County and San Diego County Chapters and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Western Region. As vice president, Sarah Carr is focused on building strong relationships with clients and industry partners in the Southern California education market. Sarah brings more than two decades of field and operations experience to her role, having held a variety of positions including vice president operations, project manager, assistant project manager, senior project engineer and project engineer. Over the course of her career, she has played a key role in more than $1 billion in work in Southern California, including the $615 million Hollywood & Highland Entertainment Retail Complex and $238 million Huntington Beach Union High School District modernization and expansion. Committed to helping other women in the construction industry develop and succeed, Sarah was co-founder of Women in Construction Operations (WiOPS) in 2013 and currently sits on the organization’s board of directors. She also serves on the national committee for the McCarthy Partnership for Women employee resource group. A Designated Design-Build Professional and LEED AP BD+C with the U.S. Green Building Council, Sarah is a board member for the Associated General Contractors of California and is also active with the Coalition for Adequate School Housing and the Design-Build Institute of America.
