Scope Of Work
Fort Bend County Water Control & Improvement District No. 2 (FBC WCID No. 2) provides water and wastewater collection and treatment services to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers across Fort Bend County and the Houston area. The district wanted to improve its level of service and continue to provide for the community, but they were approaching their elevated storage capacity and water supply limitations.
SERVICE DETAILS
Our team worked with FBC WCID No. 2 on the design and construction of Water Plant No. 6. The plant was designed with multiple levels of redundancy. Should it lose access to its 0.5-megawatt generator and natural gas supply, the plant has an elevated storage tank that can supply 1 million gallons of potable water to the Fort Bend County community. The ground storage tank also has a non-proprietary, engineered mixing system.
Additional components of the plant include a 2,200 GPM water well, four 1,800 GPM booster pumps, a 20,000-gallon hydropneumatic tank, a building for chlorine gas ton cylinders, liquid ammonium sulfate, disinfection facilities, a chemical analyzer room, a control center, and a detention pond.
Check out the case study and discover how this plant was designed to accommodate the community’s future growth.
This project was a joint effort between our Water team, H&H team (Kyle Blank), the Surveying team (Steve Jares), and Construction Management (Ken Grafton, Jeff Oetker, and Juan Camargo).
