Larry Wares has over 35 years of construction-related experience. After receiving a BS degree in Construction Management in 1984, Mr. Wares worked for two of Southern Californias leading general contracting firms, where he excelled at the art of estimating/competitive bidding, conceptual budgeting and other pre-construction skills. Combining the use of technology with the methodical process of bidding and estimating enabled Mr. Wares to become actively involved in the construction technology industry.
In 1992 Mr. Wares invented a software program called BidFax. By 1995 BidFax was transmitting over 50 million faxes and was in use by most of the general contractors in North America. The McGraw-Hill Companies, NY, NY, acquired the software in early 1996. While working for McGraw-Hill, Mr. Wares developed a program called Dodge Plans, an electronic version of Dodge SCAN. Dodge Plans is now the largest digital plan room in North America.
In 1997 Mr. Wares founded a Construction Management firm in Orange County, California. While in the process of managing large development projects, Mr. Wares recognized the need for practical Internet-based software programs for the design and construction industry. Buzzsaw.com was founded in 1999, and as Co-Founder of Buzzsaw, Mr. Wares continued to bring the prowess of practical construction knowledge together with the power of technology. By early 2001, Buzzsaw.com was acquired by Autodesk, Inc., the 4th largest software company in the world.
After being featured in Engineering News Record (ENR) in 2005 as one of the industries up-and-coming general contractors, RM Dalton continues to blend hands-on development and construction expertise with technology that enables us to provide a more efficient and cost-effective experience to the entire development team.
