Scope Of Work
Fairing Way is a 104 residential unit senior living community with a club house and a 46 bed, on site, long term care nursing facility. Once the first phase was completed and residents moved into their new homes, our team continued with carefully coordinated construction to minimize disruption to the seniors’ lives. One of the major challenges of construction was the soil remediation required in order to redevelop the former naval air station into a residential community. Our firm has extensive experience in specialized site preparation. Our team removed 100,000 cubic yard of unsuitable soil from Southfield and brought in 100,000 cubic yards of soil to replace it, enhancing the natural beauty of the site. Fairing Way was designed to meet LEED Healthcare standards, a new and stringent set of standards that call for high environmental quality, more access to nature and energy efficient heating and cooling systems, among other things. The USGBC believes these strict new standards will benefit residents, patients and the professional staff at healthcare facilities.
