Scope Of Work
Gilbane was selected as the preferred construction manager for the new mixed-use complex at 1440 Boulevard of the Arts in Rosemary Square in downtown Sarasota, Florida. This project has brought the visual and performing arts into an area needing redevelopment. Rosemary Square boasts a new hip urban lifestyle igniting further economic stimulation into downtown Sarasota. The project scope of work for the mixed-use development has provided four key components for this redevelopment:
40+ low-rise compact urban apartments, affordable as rental units for the Sarasota Opera along with dancers and/or actors from both Sarasota Contemporary Dance and The Player’s Theater groups
34,000 SF of quality retail/office/arts space, 3,000 SF of which will be occupied by Solstice Planning and Architecture, a well-renown local architecture firm
7,000 SF urban town square creating a lively outdoor focal point with an art sculpture for the residents, businesses and the public
40 on-site public parking spaces and additional parking to meet the zoning code requirements of the Rosemary Square area
Rosemary Square gives the Sarasota and the Rosemary District a very strong, needed economic boost by providing local jobs, pedestrian-friendly streets and additional parking to the growing developing area. The project complements and distinguishes it from other local neighborhoods within the surrounding downtown Sarasota area. This vision has provided a great opportunity for a vibrant urban neighborhood to live and work.
