Scope Of Work
The Porta Caeli House is a 13,000 square foot, 12 patient hospice facility owned and operated by the Catholic Charities of Tulsa organization. Together, with a small staff, terminal patients are given a place to reside in their final days if their home environment is not sufficient to support their last days of life. In addition to the 12 patient rooms, the structure is equipped with a kitchen, a dining area, a chapel, offices, and family gathering areas. Designed to look and feel like a home, the building is wood-framed with a siding and stone exterior. A portico serves to cover the front entrance, providing shelter for those coming and going in inclement weather.
When the project design came in at nearly double the charity’s budget, Crossland crews jumped in and undertook a complete redesign that met both the needs of the organization and their budget parameters. Crossland was honored to participate in such a special project.
