Scope Of Work
In 2011, LS Power awarded Fluor an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to design and build a new, 125-megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) facility in Arizona. The Arlington Valley Solar Energy II (AVSE II) project uses more than 600,000 PV panels to harness the power of the sun in order to provide clean energy for the region. The AVSE II facility, which is the size of approximately 516 football fields, uses single-axis trackers to adjust the panels to match the movement of the sun.
Fluor's construction team completed the clean power project in Maricopa County, approximately 45 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona.
Fluor was also awarded a five-year contract to provide operations and maintenance services after the facility was commissioned.
The AVSE II facility is one of the largest solar power projects in Arizona.
The facility produces 125 megawatts of power to help meet the regional need for clean, renewable energy upon completion.
