Scope Of Work
We installed Padenpor, a padandpour multipurpose floor for the children at Eagle Academy to enjoy. The floor is seamless, as well as resilient quallifying for leed accredidation. PADENPOR delivers exceptional durability and superior wear resistance for indoor applications. Unlike fully poured-in-place or single ply surfaces, this system guarantees uniformity in thickness and density giving the athlete a dimensionally stable platform for safe and consistent performance. The base-mat durometer can be custom engineered during manufacturing to meet specified performance attributed to the site requirements. Its resurfacable wear surface provides optimum frictional properties required for typical indoor gym sports and field house activities.
"The Eagle Center Receives 2014 AIA “Award of Excellence” for Institutional Architecture
On Thursday, June 12th 2014, the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) awarded an Award of Excellence for Institutional Architecture to Shinberg Levinas Architects for its design and renovation of The Eagle Center at McGogney.
A former DC Public School surplus building, the 92,0000 square foot structure, was awarded to Eagle Academy in 2009 for full renovation and development. In addition to revamping the existing space, a new wing was added, composed primarily of polycarbonate multi-wall sheets, glass, and steel, creating a modern lantern effect at night. The new wing includes a gym and pool for recreation and physical education, a new music room, as well as administrative offices and a new entrance for the school."
