Scope Of Work
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum project consisted of the renovation of existing galleries, entrance and courtyard; in-filling slab areas at the second and third floor; and expansion and in-filling between the grandstand theater building and the original hall of fame exhibition building at the north side.
The connection of the two current structures allowed for the housing of new elevators and a curved grand staircase, sweeping up to each level and serving as a starting point for visitors. Existing ceilings were raised with the addition of a new roof that visually unifies the building. All galleries were renovated with new finishes, museum lighting and exhibits. The exterior courtyard was redesigned to improve disability access.
In the foyer, a new wall with window glass provides a focal point into the Plaque Gallery, providing visitors with a sneak preview before they pay admission to enter. The overall improved flow of exhibits allows the curatorial staff to better communicate the story of baseball, utilizing more interactive technology.
