Scope Of Work
The Los Angeles City College Student Union was a design build project awarded to Amoroso on a competitive basis by the Los Angeles Community College District. This three-story 65,000 Sf building included a large landscaped exterior terraced space, the campus bookstore, a food court, computer lab, student lounge, offices for the Associated Student Organization (ASO), and a Student Board room. The 3rd floor included the City College Foundation offices, a conference room and a banquet/multi-purpose room which can be divided into three separate rooms to allow total flexibility for the space. Amoroso also built a stairway which connects the building plaza to the adjacent two level parking structure. On the roof of this Gold LEED building, photo voltaic panels were installed. They provide 10% of the required power for the object. The building is supplied by a new central plant which was completed prior to the completion of the Student Union Building.
