Scope Of Work
This project was a six-level, 61,500 sq.-ft. addition of laboratory space to an existing building at UCLA. The project co-located existing multi-disciplinary research programs, engaged in the development of energy system based on green technology. The building was built with isolated slabs and slab-on-grade construction to mitigate vibration throughout the buildings. All labs included a high bay height of 12'-0" to support the needs of the research program. The scope of work also included connections to campus utilities, installation of the building automation system, emergency power, laboratory utilities and fume hoods, installation of life safety systems, and installation of low voltage communications conduit. All work took place amidst daily operational campus activities. This project was LEED Gold.
