Scope Of Work
Positioning California State University Stanislaus as an innovator in green building design became a priority late in the design phase of the three-story Nora and Hashem Naraghi Hall of Science Building II. To address the project's new environmentally responsible objectives and to maintain the project schedule, the S.J Amoroso team was required to reevaluate the design and adjust construction documents accordingly in less than three weeks. Despite this challenge, the three-story building was constructed on time, on budget, and earned a LEED Silver Certification. The $38.6 million facility is currently the largest structure erected on the Campus with 115,000 Sf of spaces for the university's biology, chemistry, physics, geology, and astronomy departments. Constructing a complex facility with complex systems that support more than 25 laboratories, 58 faculty offices, four classrooms, an observatory, a computer lab, a vivarium, and an aquarium required a comprehensive and collaborative approach to developing and maintaining the project schedule.
