Scope Of Work

This project was a wastewater pump station expansion at the Clark County Water Reclamation District. The project increased the existing primary effluent pump station peak flow pumping capacity from 120 MGD to 320 MGD. Work involved tying into the existing wet well without causing shutdowns to the operating facility. The project also included all new control systems to incorporate the new pumps and the old pumps in the system. The project involved construction of a new sub-grade, cast-in-place concrete wet well and single-story pump station with five new vertical turbine pumps, valves, pump motors and variable frequency drives. Ihis expansion also required steel and nberglasS reinforced plastic piping conveyance systems with pipe sizes ranging from eight inches in diameter to 96 inches in diameter. The piping system was constructed primarily underground, including new concrete junction boxes with automatic slide gates. The work also included new flow meters and electrically actuated control valves to control flow to the eight existing aeration basins and four future aeration basins. In addition, a new electrical buildingg was constructed for the new electrical load center, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, UPS and control terminal. Modifications were also required at the District's Primary Effluent Diversion Structure, which involved the relining of 300 feet of existing 72-inch concrete pipe that was part of the new piping system. This project also included the complete design-build of a new two-stage odor control bio-filter system to help mitigate foul air from the system.
