Scope Of Work
UEC-Premiere Theatre was a 40,000 SF state of the art movie theatre that had 12 individual movie theaters under roof. All theatres featured digital surround sound and video. Three of the 12 theatres had elevated stadium seating. The entire project utilized masonry construction with split face block at the entrance for architectural appeal. All the interior walls were filled masonry for sound control between the different theatres. A concession stand and game room were included to service the patrons while they waited for the movies to begin. Project was a design build that was expedited in order to precede another theatre project that was also being proposed. The building was located in an area that had a high water table, poor soils, and wet lands. Group III Mgt., Inc. worked with a local civil engineer that knew the DENR requirements and procedures and was able to expedite the process so we could begin footings. A temporary road had to be constructed using wood mats in order to get construction vehicles in and out of the site until the permanent road was ready for travel. The foundation work was started before the final construction plans were completed in order to meet the revised completion date. All work was completed under budget and on time.
