Scope Of Work
The existing 60,000 square foot facility, former home to Gerber Baby Food, was converted into a state of the art and first of its kind craft malting facility. Supporting the exploding craft beer scene in Asheville, NC, Beverly-Grant worked alongside the design team to integrate automated malting lines consisting of water storage and filtration, steep tanks, 10-ton germination kiln vessels, a 5 million BTU furnace, vacuum and packaging system line, and a highly customized ductwork system to support the drying process. The project team integrated with MacDonald Steel Limited from Ontario, Canada to coordinate complex utility systems allowing Beverly-Grant to install the custom equipment pieces upon delivery. Riverbend’s capacity grew from 300,000 lbs./year to 3,000,000 lbs./year with further expansion capabilities in excess of 12,000,000 lbs./year. The project finished on schedule and under budget, with a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $1,634,574 and an actual cost of $1,595,574.
