Conquest, Moncure & Dunn, Inc. was organized in 1921 and has been continuously active in commercial, industrial, institutional, restoration, renovation and tenant improvements for over eighty years. |
The Company offers conventional general contracting, design/build and construction management services, tailoring these programs to the clients needs. |
We attribute our success to the care and attention to details that we put into each of our projects, as well as the construction experience we possess, both in the field and office. |
Our commitment to service has been rewarded by being selected in 1998, 1999 and 2000, to the Rising 25, in recognition of being one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the Richmond area. The Company has remained financially strong throughout its many years in business and can provide bonding for projects up to 30 million dollars. |
Our market is primarily in the Richmond and Central Virginia area. We do not attempt to take every project that comes along and spread our resources too thin. This philosophy enables us to produce quality work on time and within the budget. |
Work is performed on a lump sum basis, cost plus a percentage or fixed fee, cost plus a fee with guaranteed maximum with the Owner and Contractor sharing any savings on a mutually agreed formula. For the last twenty-five years, most of our contracts have been negotiated, which we feel is indicative of our ability to properly manage projects, meet time schedules, and control projects. With the aid of our computerized estimating and job cost management systems, we are able to review our job to date costs periodically, compare with budget estimate and take appropriate action, as necessary, to keep within budget. Our in-house computerized scheduling system has the ability to produce detailed schedules of several types, depending upon the complexity of the project. |
The capabilities of the Company are quite extensive and vary, depending upon the complexities and requirements of a given project. They range from very small projects with only a few thousand dollars up to multi-million dollar projects with a single job value of 25 million dollars or more. |
Due to the vast array of projects and diverse construction types that the Company has encountered over the past several years, we endeavor to match the talents and experience of a particular Project Manager and Superintendent with a project to ensure success. |
Examples of the numerous specialty projects include Cub Scout Resident Camp for the Robert E. Lee Council of BSA, creation of the Town of Henricus Phases I and II, Carpenter Center for the Performing Arts, additions to The Jefferson Hotel, American Red Cross Corporate Headquarters, Virginia Distribution Center, and University of Richmonds Weinstein Hall, just to name a few. |
