Scope Of Work

Yates Construction provided construction services for the University Medical Center’s Adult Tower, a seven-story hospital located adjacent to the current University Medical Center Teaching Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Construction of the tower included a 256-bed facility, surgical support space, and sterile processing in the basement. The 256-bed facility has four floors with 64 patient rooms on each, an ambulatory surgery center with two general suites, three orthopedic suites, and one ophthalmic suite. The surgical support spaces house eight pre-op stations, eight Stage I PACU stations, and six Stage II PACU stations. High-end finishes, such as terrazzo floors and granite wall panels, were used in the entrance atrium. A portion of the first floor is dedicated to a chapel and administrative offices. The sixth and seventh floors are shelled for future expansion. The facility provides expanded services to the community and additional training space for medical students.
