Scope Of Work
The City of Berkeley's new Center Street Parking Garage is a 248,000 SF facility that replaces the former Center Street Garage which was built in 1958. The parking structure is across the street from the Berkeley Repertory Theater and offers a coffee shop, retail space, and an area for art. The $40M, eight-level facility is a double helix design and provides parking for 720 cars and 350 bicycles. The project received ParkSmart Gold Certification and Mayor Jesse Arreguin has called the building "probably the greenest parking garage in California." The roof top solar array provides power to the parking garage as well as neighboring City-owned facilities. The building includes 20 electric car charging stations and is wired for an additional 37 charging stations.
