Scope Of Work
CAL INC is contracted by Kiewit Power Nuclear to perform abatement and remediation services for the decommissioning project at Humboldt Bay Power Plant (HBPP). Work consists of removal of all asbestos and ACM from HBPP, Unit 3 Turbine Building, passing visual inspections/air sampling tests, and making areas acceptable for occupancy and demolition.
The scope of work includes:
Removal of ACM paint on exterior of walls using chemical stripper, Roto-Peens and Needle guns
Removal of transite panels surround building
Removal of TSI pipe penetrations through walls and floors
Removal of floor tile, vinyl sheeting and associated mastics.
Removal of ACM wire insulation
Removal of ACM roofing and associated mastics.
Removal of lead sheeting materials.
Removal of CMU wall containing asbestos.
Removal of ACM insulation surrounding stairwells.
Work at HBPP requires extensive safety measures. All work is performed under close watch. CAL INC has been spoken of with the highest regards on this job. Numerous emails have been sent praising CAL INC for our safe and excellent work practices. CAL INC attends daily tailboards and safety briefs with Kiewit craft before any work begins.
CAL INC is currently working on this project and PG&E is very happy about the work we have done. It has been mentioned that PG&E plans on keeping CAL INC working at the HBPP for quite some time.
