OUR STORY

Overhead Door Company of Bellingham, distributor of Overhead Door Corporation products, was started in 1959 by Larry Erickson. We have always been family and locally owned since the beginning. Here's a short history of this great company.

• Larry Erickson started the business in 1959 after being a local builder for many years. He wanted to start a business of his own and liked the concept of the garage door business.
• Del Gilliam purchased the business from Larry in 1978 after serving as a door installer and later a manager since the start of the business.
• Terry Gilliam and Gary Gilliam, sons of Del Gilliam, purchased the door business from their father in August 1992. Terry had worked for his father and Larry Erickson since 1972 and Gary started working for the company in 1976.
• Jack D. Johnson, son-in-law of Del Gilliam, purchased the Overhead Door Company of Bellingham in July 1998. Gary Gilliam was co-owner with Jack up until his sudden death in December of 2000. Jack is still owner to date.

Since then, OHD Bellingham has become the leading door installer and service provider for Whatcom, Skagit, Island, and San Juan Counties. We are proud to offer the industry's best in both residential and commercial garage door product sales and installation. All of our garage doors and openers are backed by industries best warranties; demonstrating our confidence in both our products’ quality and longevity.
